Lead removal from soil by phytoremediation method

چکیده

Many control approaches are used today to prevent the contamination of soils with heavy metals and remove pollution. One these is phytoremediation for on-site treatment pollutants. In phytoremediation, hyperaccumulator plants used, which absorb metals, accumulate at high levels in their tissues, neutralize them after various processes. It was aimed determine effects on plant growth metal accumulation capacity this study. Using method, process canola its lead removal from soil were investigated. The study carried out 3 replicates by watering only tap water containing different concentrations greenhouse conditions. prepared mixture placed pots as 2000 g pot-1. sown seeds germinated using growing room requirement met a certain concentration during next period. Plants harvested end month irrigated solution compared water, elongation amounts root stem lengths determined. Plant samples dry weights determined burned chemicals microwave then amount measured ICP-MS device.

EDTA-enhanced phytoremediation of lead contaminated soil by Bidens maximowicziana.

Phytoremediation is a potential cleanup technology for the removal of heavy metals from contaminated soils. Bidens maximowicziana is a new Pb hyperaccumulator, which not only has remarkable tolerance to Pb but also extraordinary accumulation capacity for Pb. The maximum Pb concentration was 1509.3 mg/kg in roots and 2164.7 mg/kg in overground tissues. The Pb distribution order in the B. maximow...

Potential of Duckweed (Lemna minor) for Removal of Lead from Wastewater by Phytoremediation

This investigation was undertaken to study Pb uptake by small free floating aquatic plant Lemna minor from wastewater polluted by contaminated with heavy metals. Metal accumulation process was affected by various parameters such as different pH, temperature and concentration of Pb solution. Total chlorophyll contents in Lemna minor was adversely affected from increased with increasing Pb concen...

phytoremediation of phenanthrene from soil by sorghum

investigations around some oil and gas refineries showed that phenanthrene is the predominant form of pahs in these areas. so, in this study, the role of sorghum vulgare pers. sudanense (a warm season grass type) in removal of phenanthrene from soils (phytoremediation) in a 16 week period greenhouse study is investigated. the stress of phenanthrene presence on plant's physiological activit...

Phytoremediation efficiency of crop plants in removing cadmium, lead and zinc from soil

The experiment was carried out in 1999-2001 at the University of Agriculture in Krakow (Poland) to study the capacity of nine crops (red beet, field pumpkin, chicory, bean, barley, white cabbage, maize, alfalfa, and parsnip) to remove cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) and zinc (Zn) from different soil horizons (0-20, 20-40, 40-60 cm). The content of exchangeable Cd, Pb, and Zn decreased along with the de...

An Integrated Multi-component Phytoremediation System for Removal of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon Contaminants from Soil

A number of techniques, both mechanical and biological, have been investigated for the remediation of persistent organic contaminants from soils. However, most of these techniques have been applied independently. As a consequence of using only one process, remediation usually is slow for persistent organic contaminants. To improve remediation, a few techniques that complement different aspects ...
